C. We are at the dawn of the twentieth century, in a period marked by large migratory flows. Salvatore also leaves his native soil to land on the coasts of the Cantabrian Sea in Spain. The new sea is full of fish and Salvatore decides to start a new challenge, importing the fish salting technique learned in Sicily. Salvatore soon became one of the main players in the industrialization process of the Spanish fishing sector: he opened several factories and was among the main producers and exporters of preserved anchovies from the Cantabrian Sea. He falls in love and he marries the elegant Basque woman Simona Olasagasti, with whom he has six children.
